The Inn at Furnace Creek was built by the Pacific Coast Borax Company and welcomed its first guests on February 1, 1927; work continued for nearly a decade until its completion with 66 rooms in 1935. The Inn is open from mid-October to mid-May and July and August. To enhance the Inn, the nearby Furnace Creek Ranch was developed and opened in 1930 and welcomes travelers year round.
