OC Weekly is excited to announce the first local large-scale brunch event in celebration of the 2016 Happy Hour & Brunch Guide issue hitting newsstands on January 28th. Like the guide, Fresh Toast will introduce the best brunch spots, chefs and menus in Orange County to 1,500 attendees by showcasing over 40 local restaurants curated by the editorial staff, a bloody mary competition, drink samples, live music and pop-up shops.

Taking place on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 11am to 2pm in the Bayside Pavilion tent at Newport Dunes, this event will not only feature unlimited brunch bites, but also a VIP Dessert Lounge and a bloody mary competition. The VIP Dessert Lounge will include sweets from Gelato Paradiso, Pies by Domonic and Sugar Spin. The Bloody Battle will have eight competitors that attendees will receive samples from and the chance to vote on who had the best bloody mary, best presentation, and most unique. Those competitors include Mama’son 39, Backyard Mary, The Hub Kitchen + Taps, The Olive Pit, House of Blues Gospel Brunch and Long Beach Jerky Co.

As of press time, the following restaurants and brands have confirmed attendance at Fresh Toast: 320 Main, Anepalco’s, AVEO Table + Bar at the St. Regis Monarch Beach, Brio Tuscan Grille, Back Bay Bistro, C4 Deli: The Cure for the Common, Cafe Calacas, Crema Café, CUCINA enoteca, Euro Caffe, Fig & Olive, Great Maple, Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop, Haven Gastropub, James Republic, Las Brisas, Memphis Café, Old Vine Café, OPM Restaurant & Lounge, Outpost Kitchen, Pandor Artisan Boulangerie & Café, Piaggio Gourmet on Wheels, Plums Café, Provisions Market, Restauration, SOCIAL Costa Mesa, Taco María, The Hub Kitchen & Taps, The Trough Sandwich Kitchen, Urban Seoul, Ways & Means Oyster House and Who Song & Larry’s.

Brunch sips will be poured by Modelo Especial, Hendrick’s Gin, SKYY Vodka, Aperol Spritz, Espolon Tequila and more to be announced in early February.

Supplying amazing background music will be headliner and Huntington Beach local, David Rosales, performing his country, folk and blues tunes as seen at festivals such as KABOO and NAMM. He will be preceded by Laguna Beach performer, Lauren Black, and husband- and-wife duo, Casey Sullivan of Seedless and Katie Sullivan of The Outriders.

Tickets are available now until 9am on February 27th for purchase at http://www.ocweekly.com/freshtoast. A limited number of VIP tickets are available for purchase for $55 and general admission tickets for $35. Pricing will increase at the door if tickets are still available. GA tickets include drink samples, unlimited food samples and access to the live music and vendors. VIP tickets include all the benefits of GA plus the added amenities of a separate expedited entrance, access to the VIP Dessert Lounge, private restrooms and a VIP swag bag.

A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to the Ben Carlson Foundation and their efforts to continually offer annual scholarships in memory of the Newport Beach lifeguardwho lost his life on duty during the July 4 , 2014 weekend.
